Cesc Fabregas joined Chelsea from Barcelona this summer in a £30 million move after Arsenal decided not to activate the first refusal clause on the former Gunner.
Fabregas has been excellent this season and he has already made 8 assists and scored a goal in all competitions for Chelsea.
So the obvious question for the press and Arsenal haters is why didn’t Wenger sign his former protégé? Wenger’s answer was straightforward and realistic
I don’t regret not taking Cesc because we already had a lot of creative players
We have quite a number of players in that position, no doubt Cesc is world class and would improve us significantly but were it not for Cesc we wouldn’t have questioned Wenger’s decision. It’s just that emotional bonding with Cesc that has caused this disgruntlement.
Wenger also added that Chelsea will have to go through a blip this season:
Chelsea will also have a difficult period [in the season]. Our schedule was extremely difficult and I have the belief that we can close the gap to them.
I am not sure what Arsene calls a difficult period but I am assuming Mourinho gets the sack and is banned from coaching all his life, Terry loses his legs, has his eyes poked out and Costa while on international duty gets touched by Torres and becomes Torres.
