Arsenal’s German striker Lukas Podolski has admitted that he could leave the club this winter if he doesn’t get enough playing time. The German has expressed his frustration at not playing regularly this campaign after failing to start a single Premier League game this season.
Podolski earlier this season expressed his disappointment and his national team coach Joachim Loew also shared the same concern. The German was rumoured to leave the club this summer and Galatasaray were the favorites to sign the forward. However a long term injury to main striker Olivier Giroud meant that the deal was cancelled and Podolski stayed.
When quizzed about his game time the former Cologne star replied that it was Wenger’s question to answer:
I am not happy with the situation at the moment. It would be wrong to suggest that I am. I still have fun playing football but when the competitive element of it is taken away from me, the one I enjoy so much, then I am not happy.
I have to think about will happen this winter and will look to hold talks with the club. There were no offers. In football you can’t sadly just go looking for a club but have to see what comes. I don’t know why that is, one has to ask the manager back in England
This is not the first time the ever smiling and hashtag king has expressed his frustration. His future has been in intense speculation for some time and it’s up to Arsene Wenger to sort out the situation.
He may not have that defensive nous but then again none in the club have. You can’t deny the fact that he is our best finisher and has a shot that can break John Terry’s skull. He should be starting games and it’s better to have him than someone like Santi Cazorla who is disastrous. #sad poldi
