I have always been curious which Arsenal player has ever possessed or possesses the hardest shot. My two main contenders for the title happen to still be at the club…step forward Tomas Rosicky and Lukas Podolski. I am sure Ray Parlour and Robin Van Persie might have something to say about that as well other old timer fans (Remember Van Persie’s stunning goal against Charlton Athletic in 2006?)
In comparing the two players I am taking into consideration that Podolski usually shoots within the box while Rosicky is usually outside the box, accuracy of the shots and age of the players meaning I am not looking at the frequency of the shots.
Rosicky announced himself on the big stage with a thunderous strike against Hamburg that the keeper could do nothing about. Since then he has had some wonderful strikes the most recent been the goal against Tottenham in March 2014 that went into Arsene Wenger’s ‘great goals collection.’ He really lives up to his name, ‘the little Mozart.’

I do not think Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer still knows what went past him when Podolski put his foot through the ball to score that wonderful goal. How many times has Podolski rattled the bar against different teams?
It is hard to decide who has the harder shot between Rosicky and Podolski. They both have great technique with minimum backlift that tends to generate more power when they strike a ball. However in my opinion, Rosicky just about shades this one. His shot is extremely hard and accurate giving no keeper a chance even from distance. As much as many fans do not want to remember Van Persie, he did have a wonderful left foot like Podolski but overall…Rosicky wins the title of hardest shot in Arsenal. So who, in your opinion, possesses the most powerful shot in the history of Arsenal?
