Joel Campbell looks set to enjoy an extremely fruitful spell at Villarreal this season, with the Costa Rican thrown straight in at the deep end after making the switch to La Liga just days ago.
The 22-year-old made the switch to Villarreal as part of a deal that saw Gabriel Paulista move in the other direction, and was hopeful of securing regular first team football.

He already looks on course to get exactly what he’s looking for, with the young loanee handed his first start for the club almost instantly.
Campbell was named in the starting XI for the second leg of Villarreal’s Copa del Rey quarter final clash with Getafe; a game his new side won 1-0.
Luciano Vietto was the player to make way, with our young forward slotting in on the right. His pace meant he was a constant threat, and he looked capable of making things happen. He was withdrawn early in the second half however, with his lack of game time at Arsenal no doubt affecting his fitness.
He was never going to get regular first team football with us this season, so it’s great that he has found a club that appears to have faith in him. Hopefully his latest loan spell will help him mature, and he will return at the end of the season a better player.
