The German international has been out of action since October after picking up a partial ligament tear in his knee during the Gunners 2-0 defeat at Chelsea, but is expected to make a return very soon.
The 26 year old playmaker has revealed that he found it very difficult to watch the North London club struggle from the sidelines.
According to Goal.com, he said:
I worked hard. I finally want to go back on the pitch. That I could only watch with an injury was very difficult for me.
I want to help my two teams to reduce the backlog – at Arsenal and in the national team.
In the Premier League everything can happen. We also remain in the Champions League. And [for Germany] in the European Qualifiers we have to start to win.

In my first year with Arsenal we won the important FA Cup after nine years. In Rio we became World Cup winners. It’s nothing to sneeze at.
The German has been pretty average since completing a £42.4 million move from Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, and has only managed to show fleeting glimpses of his true quality. However, he will be hoping to finally kick-start his Arsenal career once he returns from injury.
He is undoubtedly a top quality player who can turn games and his return will provide the side more attacking threat in the final third. The competition for places in the first team is fierce, but Wenger has full confidence in Ozil so he will not have any problem in making the starting line-up.
His return will be a big boost for Arsenal as they pursue a top four finish. The Gunners are currently sixth in the League table, 13 points behind joint league-leaders Chelsea. They will be confident of securing a top-four finish, but can ill-afford to take it for granted as there is severe competition for places
How do you think Ozil’s return will impact Arsenal?
