Alexis Sanchez may not have taken centre stage during our 2-0 win over Manchester City, but he has been phenomenal since joining the club from Barcelona this past summer.
Theo Walcott is the latest star to sing his praises on Arsenal‘s official website, and claims the Chilean offers so much more than his superb on field performances.
The 26-year-old’s energy levels are incredible, and Sunday’s game was arguably the first time this season he has shown any signs of fatigue. Walcott claims that his new teammate’s energy levels have proved infectious at the club, and that he has inspired his new side to work even harder.
“You see somebody working so hard and it makes you want to try to back him up,” he said.
“When you see what he does off the pitch, behind the scenes at the training ground, and how much work he puts in, all the players just stand up and think ‘Yeah, I need to [do] a bit more as well then’.
“He is amazing because he spots things that a lot of players won’t. I tend to make my runs off the ball and he is always looking for that. He drags more players on to him, which creates more space for other people and I do the same thing.”
Having only recently returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, the pacey 25-year-old is yet to find the form he was showing prior to his injury. Once he regains his match sharpness however, the thought of he and Alexis Sanchez on either flank is an extremely exciting prospect.
