We have been sending scouts to watch Lyon games for a while now, and while there are a number of top players on display, it seems to be Nabil Fekir that we have our eyes on.
The 21-year-old hinted that he would be open to joining Arsenal eventually, but wants to make sure he won’t just be sitting on the bench if he joins, according to the Express.
“Arsenal’s bench? No thank you! We will see. I don’t want to leave too early and to end up on the bench,” he said.
“I am a fighter and I like to play, I am not happy when I do not play.
“It is only my first season at the top level, at Arsenal, with the big players that they have, it would be complicated to play in their place, perhaps. But you never know.”
We have a host of attacking players at our disposal, and he is right to worry about his game time.
With players like Mesut Özil, Santi Cazorla, and Alexis Sanchez all operating in similar roles, he would barely even make it onto our bench at the moment.
The youngster may need a few more seasons at Lyon before being ready to step up to a Premier League side like Arsenal.
He isn’t really what we need anyway, so it’s hard to see Arsene Wenger splashing the cash on him.
