Arsenal v Leicester City
Kick off: Tuesday February 10, 2015 – 19.45 PM BST
Another poor game by our standards, but at least this time we secured all three points. We arguably played worse than we did against Tottenham, but against a team like Leicester City we thankfully weren’t punished too severely.
Here are the player ratings for our 2-1 win over Leicester at the Emirates:
GK) David Ospina – 6.0
Couldn’t do much against the goal, but didn’t have a great game. His distribution in particular was terrible, although he
RB) Hector Bellerin – 5.5
Leicester enjoyed a huge amount of joy down our right side, and the Spaniard was caught out of position regularly.
CB) Laurent Koscielny – 7.5
Opened the scoring with a fine finish from a corner, and was solid defensively.
CB) Per Mertesacker – 7.0
A couple of mistakes from the German, but also made a couple of goal-line saves.
LB) Nacho Monreal – 5.5
Our full-backs were fairly poor today, both defensively and offensively. Riyad Mahrez was given far too much space on both flanks.
DM) Francis Coquelin – 7.0
The Frenchman was solid in midfield yet again, protecting the back four well. He could have done better against Esteban Cambiasso for Leicester’s goal, but arguably should have been given a free-kick.
CM) Tomas Rosicky – 6.5
Not a bad performance from the Czech international, but didn’t really have a huge impact on the game.
CAM) Santi Cazorla – 6.5
The Spaniard has seen his form dip a little in recent weeks, and he yet again wasn’t at his best.
RAM) Theo Walcott – 7.0
Was making some good runs, and took his goal really well. Arguably should have got himself on the scoresheet sooner. Was substituted midway through the second half.
LAM) Mesut Özil – 7.0
The German looked absolutely superb in the first half, not only providing both assists, but looking capable of scoring himself. He faded significantly in the second however.
ST) Alexis Sanchez – 6.0
Unsurprisingly looked a little rusty after coming back from injury, and picked up a knock in the first half which severely hampered his game. Was taken off in the second half, although it arguably should have come sooner.
Olivier Giroud – 6.5
Was given next to no service, and was repeatedly penalised harshly by the referee.
Aaron Ramsey – N/A
Was only on the pitch for a short time before hitting the deck with an injury.
Mathieu Flamini – N/A
An enforced substitution, the Frenchman didn’t have a huge amount of time to make an impact.
