In today’s round-up we have some shocking claims from Spain suggesting Alexis Sanchez is unhappy in London. along with updates on new signing Bielik and the team news for the North London derby on Saturday.
Here we go.
Insane reports from Spain suggest Alexis Sanchez wants Arsenal exit
Alexis Sanchez is reportedly considering leaving Arsenal after being outshone by Santi Cazorla recently. The Spaniard recently added the January Player of the Month award to his December accolade and this seems to have upset the Chilean. The report appears to be in total contrast to the noises Sanchez is making publicly on social networking sites.
He has been magnificent since joining Arsenal, scoring a superb 18 goals in his first 32 appearances for the club. The idea of Arsenal considering the sale of one of their best players less than a year after buying him from Barcelona for £35 million seems far-fetched, and so does the notion that Sanchez has suddenly become unhappy at Arsenal because of Cazorla’s match-winning displays. Absolute garbage.
Arsene Wenger claims new Arsenal signing may not play until next season
Arsene Wenger has hinted new signing Krystian Bielik may not be ready to play for the first team until next season. Wenger confirmed that while he’s impressed by the youngster’s strength and technique, the 17 year old is expected to use the next four to five months to adapt to life in England and build up his fitness.
It’s certainly no surprise that Bielik isn’t going to be fast-tracked into the first team just yet. He’s only made a handful of first team appearances for Legia and it’s going to be a huge step up for him in the Premier League. The emergence of Francis Coquelin in the middle of the park has also helped as there’s now far less pressure to push him up too soon.
Ex-Arsenal target disappointed to have not earned his dream move
St Etienne defender Loic Perrin has admitted regret after failing to sign for Arsenal in the January transfer window. The Frenchman was linked with a switch to the Gunners at the start of the winter window, when Arsene Wenger was scouring the transfer market for a central defender to sign this winter. He eventually dove in for Brazilian Gabriel Paulista, snapping him up from La Liga outfit Villarreal. The strengths of both players are thought to be very similar, but the age factor influenced Wenger to opt for Paulista, who is 5 years younger than Perrin.
Blow for Arsenal as Arsene Wenger rules Alexis Sanchez out of the North London Derby
Wenger revealed the bad news we all had hoped would never come – Alexis Sanchez is out of the trip to Tottenham. The Chilean was initially expected to feature against our North London rivals, but the manager has now confirmed the striker will only be back in contention when we take on Leicester City at the Emirates on Tuesday night.
It will be a major blow for the Gunners not to have their talisman who has been in sensational form. With Sanchez now ruled out, Wenger might stick with the same starting eleven that beat Villa 5-0 last Sunday, with Welbeck expected to start from the bench after making a return from injury.
Arsenal’s Francis Coquelin on his unexpected Emirates recall
Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin has admitted that Charlton Athletic played a big role in helping him prepare for Premier League action. The 23 year old made just one League Cup appearance at left-back before joining Charlton on loan in November, going on to make five appearances for the Championship club. He was recalled just a month later due to a spate of injuries in the squad.
The Frenchman made his first Premier League start of the season in the 2-1 win at West Ham and since then has become a regular feature in the starting line-up. The defensive solidity since his reintroduction has been fantastic as the Gunners have won 4 of the 5 games, conceding just 3 goals. Hopefully he can continue to do the same for the rest of the season.
Arsenal sign highly rated youngster to new contract
Arsenal have officially confirmed that young striker Kaylen Hinds has signed his first professional contract with the Gunners. The youngster is a graduate of our Hale End Youth Academy and has been impressing for the under-19s this season with his three goals in as many games helping the club reach the last 16 of the Uefa Youth League.
Hinds has also featured for the club at under-18 and under-21 level during the course of this season, while he’s also represented England at under-16 and under-17 level. The deal might not interest most fans but keeping new talent in-house is also important for the club’s future.
To finish off, the rumours about Sanchez are just outrageous and the reported course of his unhappiness is hilarious. Coming to the team news, missing the Chilean for the derby game is a big blow but Giroud has been in good goal scoring form since his return not to mention back to back goals for both Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil so we should not miss his Sanchez’s exploits.
