Mesut Özil has been named Arsenal‘s Vitality Player of the Month, continuing his fine run of form since his return from injury.
Our record signing has scored twice this month, as well as providing three assists for his Arsenal teammates.
He began with an assist against Aston Villa, putting it on a plate for Olivier Giroud with a sumptuous flick over the defence. He got a goal himself that game too, making it 2-0 after the break.
The German World Cup winner scored the opening goal in the North London derby clash against Tottenham, and got a further two assists against Leicester City in our hard fought Premier League win.
He looks to be targeting the award for a second month running, already bagging a pair of assists against Everton at the start of the month.
Özil secured 33.5% of the votes, with Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla coming second and third with 21% and 19% respectively.
He has been superb since returning from a lengthy spell on the sidelines, and could be key to our success in the tail end of the season.
