Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky has admitted that the damaging defeat to Monaco on Wednesday had an effect on the team during Sunday’s victory over Everton.
The team was visibly nervy during the encounter, especially in the first half where we conceded a large portion of the possession to Roberto Martinez’s side.
A goal before half-time by Olivier Giroud was vital as the second half saw glimpses of the football we know the team is capable of producing.

Rosicky revealed to Arsenal Player that the technical side of our game was inhibited and a rigid performance was needed in order to overcome the nerves.
“You could see that the lads were affected by it and the technical level of our game was not there,” the Czech Republic play-maker said.

“It was difficult as we were affected by the loss to Monaco but you go through disappointments throughout the season, you just have to fight through it.
“I’m glad we have these three points, it’s very important for the confidence of the whole team.”
A slender 1-0 lead was made more comfortable by Rosicky when his deflected effort beat Tim Howard and gave us what was a vital three points in the end.
