Former Arsenal star Sylvain Wiltord narrowly escaped death earlier this week, after being eliminated from a game show just hours before a tragic helicopter crash killed three of his fellow contestants, report the Telegraph.
Wiltord was taking part in French reality TV show ‘Dropped’, but was not on either of the two helicopters involved in the accident.
Two helicopters reportedly collided in mid air during filming in Argentina, killing ten people – including three French Olympic stars.
Olympic swimmer and gold medalist Camille Muffat, Olympic boxer Alexis Vastine, and champion sailor Florence Arthaud were among those killed, with the incident leaving Arsenal’s former forward in shock.

He took to Twitter to voice his disbelief following the crash, writing: “I’m sad for my friends, I’m trembling, I’m horrified, I have no words, I don’t want to say anything.”

The show involved eight French stars being dropped into the wilderness, where they would have to survive – or be eliminated.
Four staff members from the show were also killed, as well as the two Argentine pilots.
Filming has now been suspended, and the show will no longer be aired on French television.
