Arsene Wenger has confirmed Wojciech Sczcesny will return between the sticks for their FA Cup clash with Manchester United if passed fit on Monday night.
The Gunners No.1 has seen himself dispatched as the starting goalkeeper since the turn of the New Year after an abysmal display against Southampton on January 1st. The Poland international was then caught smoking in the showers, consequently losing his place in the starting lineup to David Ospina.
The Colombian has been fantastic in recent fixtures making some key game-defining saves, however when it comes to domestic Cup competitions Wenger has favoured rotating between the sticks.
Szczesny missed the trip to Queens Park Rangers with a minor knock and will start against Manchester United on Monday night if deemed fit. Wenger told Arsenal’s official website:
He has a test today. If he gets through that test, he will play on Monday night.
The Gunners will travel to Old Trafford without the services of Gabriel who sustained a hamstring injury during the first half in midweek. The centre back was replaced by Laurent Koscielny 10 minutes before half time and is set for a minimum of two weeks on the sidelines.
Elsewhere Nacho Monreal could return to the squad after his recent back problems, a welcomed return considering Gabriel’s setback.

We will of course lose Gabriel in the squad and Nacho Monreal might come back. He will have a test today. Everybody else should be available – the same squad that played against Queens Park Rangers.
Gabriel has a little hamstring injury and he will be out for two to three weeks. He has a scan today. That means he’s not available for the weekend and certainly not for West Ham United or Monaco, but after that he should be available again.
It’s a blow to lose Gabriel after some promising performances but the first choice duo remains Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny. The signing and integration of the Brazilian into the first team enabled Wenger to rotate and offer others a breather. Hopefully he will make a swift return soon and have a say in the remainder of the season.
