Arsenal’s longest serving player Theo Walcott claims he wouldn’t be where he is today if it weren’t for the influence of Thierry Henry.
The 25-year-old reflected on his time at Arsenal in a recent interview, from the day he signed through to today.
He put special importance on the impact Henry had on his career, and claims the advice he was given has proved hugely important.
The pacey winger believes he wouldn’t be the player he is today if it weren’t for Henry, and heaped praise on the Arsenal legend – whose shirt he now covets.
He also recalled some special moments in his career, such as his hat-tricks against Croatia for England and Newcastle for Arsenal.
Walcott has been a periphery figure since returning from his long term injury, and has barely featured this season. His current contract has just over a year to run on it, so his future at the club is currently uncertain.
