Arsenal are one of a number of Premier League clubs currently chasing Luton Town prodigy Charlie Patino, who is just 11-years-old.
According to the Daily Mail, we are in a race also including Chelsea and Tottenham for the youngster – who currently plays in midfield – and it would take around £10,000 – in accordance with FIFA’s compensation guidelines – to sign him.
Patino, along with his parents, have attended all three training grounds, including our’s, which is not too far from their London Colney home.
If he was to join us, he would follow in the footsteps of current midfielder Jack Wilshere. The England international was two years younger when he became a Gunner, and has since made nearly 100 league appearances under Arsene Wenger, as well as collecting 26 caps for his country along the way. And while injuries have somewhat stunted his development, there is no questioning his quality. If Patino can replicate Wilshere’s promise, then £10,000 is surely nothing to pay.
