Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling has revealed that being linked with a club of Arsenal’s stature is “flattering” after the 20-year-old sought for an interview to clarify rumours regarding his contract (via BBC Sport).
Sterling confirmed that he has indeed turned down a contract worth £100,000 per-week and insisted that finance wasn’t the motivation behind the decision, playing football and winning trophies is his main concern.
Reports emerged this week that we were monitoring his contractual situation, with Wenger a massive fan of the former Queens Park Rangers academy graduate (via Evening Standard).

The winger comes up against us on Saturday and we will certainly have to be mindful of his threats. A victory against Liverpool would open up a nine point gap which they surely won’t be able to make up.
Without meaning to dwell on the negative though, a home loss would be disastrous – and allow Liverpool to catch up to within three points.
