What looked like being an extremely tricky fixture is turning into a demolition at the Emirates, with Mesut Özil making it 2-0 with a fantastic free-kick after Hector Bellerin opened the scoring.
Liverpool looked tentative in the opening minutes, and were shaky in possession. We looked like scoring on a number of occasions, but we couldn’t take advantage of their mistakes – largely down to the heroics of Simon Mignolet.
The visitors grew into the game after 15 minutes, and were starting to threaten. We put a stop to that when Bellerin curled the ball past the Belgian shot-stopper to make it 1-0.
Moments later it was 2-0, with Liverpool gifting us a free-kick in a dangerous area. Mesut Özil stepped up, and curled it beautifully into the far corner.

Just how good is this, Gunners?
It was a superb free-kick, and left Mignolet with no chance. His starting position wasn’t the best, and neither was that of his wall. It was difficult to see how he would have saved it anyway, with the German World Cup winner placing it brilliantly.
