Our midfield maestro Santi Cazorla believes that we can still be successful this season, provided we lift the FA Cup, according to The Express.
Despite being heavy favourites to progress, we crashed out of the Champions League against Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Our 2-0 win at the Stade Louis II was not enough to make up for our woeful 3-1 loss at home, and we ended up eliminated after a 3-3 aggregate result.
The Spaniard has bemoaned our performance at the Emirates, but claims we are still in an excellent position. He is hopeful of competing for silverware this season, and the FA Cup is clearly our best chance.
“We lost the tie in the first leg,” Cazorla told Spanish publication El Mundo, report The Express.
“It has been difficult to digest, has been a huge frustration.

“At home we made serious mistakes, and we went into the Champions League with the feeling that, playing Monaco over two legs, we would have progressed.
“But hey, apart from that setback, the team is in a good shape and we still have the FA Cup semi-final, which allows us to compete for a trophy.”
Arsene Wenger guided us to the FA Cup last season, ending a trophy drought that lasted nearly a decade. He is confident of retaining the title this year, and, after beating Manchester United at Old Trafford to progress to the semi-final, we are heavy favourites to lift the trophy.
