Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is known for his ‘banter’, and appears regularly on Arsenal player in comedy sketches with his teammates.
His latest victim was summer signing Calum Chambers, with the Ox ridiculing the young right-back for his lack of pace.
The former Southampton man allegedly has a future in central defence (or perhaps even defensive midfield), as that is where Arsene Wenger envisaged him playing when he bought him this season.
He has spent large parts of his first campaign at right-back however, where he has been criticised for his mobility, positioning, and pace.
Chamberlain picked out one game in particular to pin-point his new teammate’s shortcomings, and highlighted how he struggled with Swansea City’s Jefferson Montero.
The 21-year-old was deployed on the right-wing that season, and jokingly explained that it was unfair that he was blamed for not tracking back enough when Chambers struggled with the pace and trickery of Montero.
The versatile defender may have been criticised somewhat since his move, but overall he has enjoyed a fantastic first season at the Emirates. His performances at the start of the season were fantastic, and he could definitely be a star of the future.
