The goalkeeper position seems like a priority for us this summer considering the number of potential options we’re pursuing, as The Telegraphs suggests, and it seems that Schmeichel is prominent among Wenger’s thoughts.
David Ospina has taken the reins as the club’s No.1 since January and while he’s performed admirably on occasions, both he and Szczesny have shown that they’re prone to errors at any point in the game.

Ospina’s error against Swansea City on Monday has been well documented and Szczesny made a high-profile mistake in his last outing against Reading.
With the boss confirming that he’s only looking to add “top, world-class players” (via Sky Sports) to our squad this summer, whether or not Schmeichel is in that bracket of player is questionable.
The Danish international is 28-years-old and according to the report, there are other clubs interested in the shot-stopper.
Few can deny Schmeichel’s importance to Leicester City’s relegation fight, but we should only be looking to add bona fide world-class players into our squad.
