Arsenal’s move for Morgan Schneiderlin has taken a fresh twist after Southampton named their price with the south-coast demanding £25m for their prized asset, Goal reports.
Schneiderlin is set to move on this summer in search of Champions League football after claiming that he no longer wanted to watch-on while the best players in Europe compete in the premier club competition.
“I no longer want to be in front of my TV every Tuesday and Wednesday,” he warned (via the Mirror).
Arsenal transfer news
Despite the performances of Francis Coquelin this season, a top-quality holding midfielder should be one of our priorities and it seems as though Arsene Wenger wants to address that area this summer.
Previous reports suggested that Schneiderlin remained our priority (via the Metro); however those intense commentaries have since cooled as the summer window draws closer.

Goal reports that we have made enquiries for the Frenchman and adding a strong spine to our team would propel us to genuine title contenders.
Schneiderlin should be one of our main transfer targets given that his ability would blend well with all our current central midfielders. The 25-year-old anchors the midfield for France while also operating in a box-to-box role for Southampton alongside Victor Wanyama.
A midfield pairing of Aaron Ramsey and Schneiderlin has all the qualities to match most teams across Europe.
