Arsenal take on Swansea City on Monday night as we aim to exact revenge for the 2-1 defeat we suffered at the Liberty Stadium in November.
On that day, there were a number of threats from Garry Monk’s side which we couldn’t handle, but as the Swans boss will know, he’s preparing to face a different Arsenal team this time around.
We’ve found balance in our side which has coincided with the return of our injured players, potentially setting up a wonderful clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Considering their dedication to playing football the right way, fans will be treated to a footballing spectacle and there will be a number of individual battles which could decide the outcome of the game.
Arsenal v Swansea odds
Here are three key battles we must win in order to be victorious.
3. Santi Cazorla vs Ki Sung-yueng
Much of our play is heavily dependent on the performance of Cazorla these days. Deployed deep in midfield alongside Francis Coquelin, his ability to receive the ball from the defence and spray the ball around with either foot is crucial.
Teams are reluctant to press us high up with pitch with Cazorla in there because, unlike other midfielders, he also has the ability to beat a number of opponents to create opportunities – as Manchester City quickly found out.
However, Swansea possess a technician of their own and Sung-yueng seems to be one of a number of Premier League players to raise their game when facing us.
As Leon Britton reaches the twilight of his career, the South Korean international has taken on the mantle of becoming the teams creative chief. The fact he was allowed to spend last season on loan at Sunderland seemed like madness, but he’s back and we need to take care of him.
