We are on course to win our second consecutive FA Cup this Saturday, with Aston Villa the only thing standing between us an lifting the trophy once again. Alexis Sanchez is desperate to win a cup during his first season at the club, with his desire to win on display when speaking to BT Sport for an interview that will air during their coverage of the game this weekend.
Arsenal transfer news
The Chilean has been phenomenal this season, and really hit the ground running on his arrival in the Premier League. He looks perfectly suited to the rigours of the English top flight, and has really taken to the league like a duck to water.
The former Barcelona star makes no secret of his desire to win trophies, and insists that Arsenal is a club that he can achieve those goals with. He may get his wish this weekend, although he will surely be targeting the Premier League and the Champions League rather than the FA Cup.
He also revealed his admiration for Arsene Wenger, how welcomed he felt when he first arrived at the Emirates, and his desire to see improvement next season.

Alexis Sanchez: The FA Cup is a competition with amazing history. Today we watched a video about Arsenal’s previous wins and thanks to the clips I trained with even more motivation. I hope we can win the cup so the Arsenal supporters are happy.
BT: You are a player in demand – what made you choose Arsenal?
AS: The reason why I moved to Arsenal is because there were a group of young players with the ambition to achieve things. I thought that Arsenal was the perfect club for me, the perfect club to win titles and compete in every competition.
BT: Was it easy to understand humour in the dressing room – who helped you?
AS: Yes there is a joyful atmosphere in the dressing room. Arsenal is a magnificent club and I hope to win many titles here. I’m going to do my very best to help the club achieve success.
BT: Are you aware that your desire to win the ball back excites the fans so much?
AS: I don’t really perceive that. Every time someone takes the ball off me I feel like I’ve been stripped of my toy. When a player takes the ball off me I just want to win it back. That could work as a motivational tool for my teammates but I don’t think about that on the pitch.
BT: How would you describe your first season here?
AS: It has been a positive season but I have still got ambitions to win more. I would like to be closer to winning the Premier League title and get further in the Champions League. Every time I play I do it with the same motivation. I want the team to grow more and to compete in every competition we play.
BT: How would you describe Arsene Wenger?
AS: He is a legend. He is an Arsenal legend. You learn from him every day. Sometimes we discuss about things like I would like to train more, and he doesn’t let me! But he definitely looks after me.
