Arsenal’s vice-captain Per Mertesacker has lavished praise on the returning Jack Wilshere and insisted that he’s “vital” to the team whilst also warning many to afford the 23-year-old some patience, The Evening Standard reports.
Wilshere produced a wonderful cameo display in our 3-1 victory over Hull City on Monday night and showed many what he’s capable of with the ball at his feet.
His first piece of action was to produce one of his trademark runs with the ball at his feet as he left a number of Hull City players trailing before winning a free-kick.

However, Mertesacker has urged caution and wants Wilshere to be given time in order for him to reach peak fitness.
“You can see his contribution is vital,” he told the publication.

“He can run at the opponents and create some special moments. But we need to give him time to get really sharp and really fit.”
Wilshere was brought on in place of Aaron Ramsey and took up the right-wing position, which may now give Wenger an added selection headache.
Our academy graduate is clearly the superior dribbler and his ability to burst past players gives us an added dimension on the right side of our attack.
Following his constant injury problems, hopefully Wilshere can now enjoy a sustained period in the squad and show many the potential he undoubtedly has.
