Arsene Wenger was quizzed on his goalkeepers in Friday morning’s press conference, as the debate over whether David Ospina or Wojciech Szczesny should be our no.1 continues to roll on.
Arsenal transfer rumours
The press have been speculating over both players’ futures in recent weeks, with the Mirror recently suggesting that Chelsea’s Petr Cech is in line to become the Gunners’ first-choice between the posts next season.
However, Wenger has again gave his full backing to the Colombian stopper, who has been excellent since coming into the team in place of Szczesny back in January, and the official website tweeted this quote today:

The 26-year-old has certainly been in fine form, keeping nine clean-sheets since the turn of the year and only twice conceding more than one goal. His success has helped inspire a run of nine league games without defeat, including eight victories.

While Szczesny’s future looks far more uncertain – if the imminent arrival of Cech is to be believed – it’s worth remembering that the Pole won the Premier League’s golden glove award last season and remains an outstanding second choice.
Should we sign another goalkeeper, Gunners? Or do Ospina and Szczesny provide enough competition to keep us supplied between the sticks for years to come?
