The Premier League season has come to a close, and all that remains in this campaign is for us to win the FA Cup final against Aston Villa this weekend.
Squawka have ranked every single player in the Arsenal squad according to their performance score for the season, which takes into account a number of different factors – including shots, crosses, tackles, interceptions, etc.
It’s been a fairly successful season, although we will be hoping to improve on it significantly in 2015/16. Our fantastic run of form in 2015 saw us storm up the table, but we need to keep that up throughout the campaign.
Here are the Squawka player performance scores for the entire Arsenal squad:
Wojciech Szczesny – 41
The Polish shot-stopper certainly hasn’t enjoyed his best season, and made a couple of serious blunders (both on and off the field). He was understandably dropped by Arsene Wenger, and replaced by the far more reliable David Ospina.
Mathieu Debuchy – 92
The Frenchman looked like a superb replacement for his compatriot Bacary Sagna when he first joined the club, but his first season at the Emirates was unfortunately plagued by injury (via the Daily Mail).
Mikel Arteta – 135
Arteta is another player whose season has been hampered by injury, making just a handful of appearances throughout. He performed well when on the field though, with the highest pass accuracy (94%) in the squad, as Squawka reports.
Calum Chambers – 192
The young Englishman looked like a purchase for the future when he first arrived, but was thrown in at the deep end almost immediately. He performed superbly at the start of the season, but it his since become apparent that he has no future whatsoever at right-back.
Gabriel Paulista – 201
Having joined the club in January, Gabriel is yet to break into the team on a regular basis. He has looked extremely promising on the few occasions he has been given a chance however, and should kick on next season.
