The new Arsenal kit went on sale today, and some big news accompanied the release. Petr Cech’s switch from Chelsea looks all but complete (via the Mirror), and it looks as though his shirt number has been confirmed as well.
The Arsenal store are refusing to print shirts of players who look set to leave the club, with David Ospina 13 and Lukas Podolski 9 currently unavailable. They have also advised fans not to get Szczesny 1 on their goalkeeping kits, and instead to wait until next week to get their shirts printed.
Ospina and Podolski look likely to leave the club during the summer transfer window, with both players seemingly surplus to requirements.

Cech looks set to inherit the No.1 shirt from Wojciech Szczesny, with the Blues veteran almost certain to come straight in as our starting keeper. The Arsenal store have told fans not to get their Szczesny shirts yet, and if they want Cech on the back then they should come back next week and get No.1.
Asked the man in the club shop what number Cech is, he smiled and said come in next week and get number 1 on your shirt #Arsenal

The news on Cech’s designated shirt number is hardly surprising, and will really be confirming what many fans were already thinking. The news that Ospina and Podolski are certainly headed for the exit is massive however, and says a lot about our transfer business this summer.
