Despite Chelsea’s recent success on the pitch, we are generally quick to remind them that their club’s ‘illustrious history’ began in 2004, as reported by the Metro in April.
Roman Abramovich’s takeover in 2004 allowed the Blues to accelerate their progress by investing huge finances into the playing squad and acquiring some of the best talents in Europe.
Their trophy cabinet has certainly seen more action than ours over the past decade but as any big club will attest, football didn’t begin in 2004.
It seems as though this notion is spreading across London to their fanbase after a Chelsea fan found himself at our museum, located at the Emirates Stadium.

The gentlemen was clearly a tourist, but having proudly donned the Chelsea kit, he may have been deprived of some history regarding his own club and went searching for some genuine tourist activities.
He would have certainly seen some stunning souvenirs in the museum as well as history regarding Herbert Chapman and our first FA Cup triumph in 1930.
That is something – no matter how much they brag about their recent and superficial success – Chelsea cannot offer their fans around the globe.
