A striker is thought to be high on our list of priorities this summer, and Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko could be available for £20m, according to the Daily Mail.
The Bosnian is apparently a target for us (via the Daily Star), although reports suggests we are facing competition from the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool, and Chelsea.
The Mail claim Jose Mourinho is a fan of the Citizens striker, but with Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge, Dzeko may need to look elsewhere to be guaranteed regular first team football. Manuel Pellegrini may also be reluctant to sell to the current champions, as he presumably won’t want to strengthen them any further.
Considering his lack of game time at the Etihad recently – as well as the fact that he is 29-years-old – £20m looks fairly steep. Premier League proven and top quality forwards are hard to come by at the moment though, and therefore come at a premium.
The report claims City are also looking to offload Stevan Jovetic, with the two players costing them a combined £49m (via the Daily Mail).
Would either of these two suit us? Or should we be aiming higher?
