Petr Cech has finally completed his move from Chelsea to Arsenal after undergoing a medical and putting pen to paper on a long-term contract, the club confirmed (via Arsenal.com).
After seeing his previously secure first team place usurped by Thibaut Courtois, Cech’s future was always going to be called into question.
It is remarkable that the deal to bring him to North London has finally been struck, given the obvious politics surrounding a deal of this magnitude.
Very rarely in Premier League history have we seen a club strengthen a rival in this manner, such was our desperation for a world class goalkeeper.
