Lukas Podolski finally looks set to complete a permanent move away from Arsenal this summer, with the German international securing a £2.85m move to Turkish side Galatasaray, according to the Daily Star.
The 30-year-old has looked close to a move for days, but it seems a deal has finally been agreed. The Star’s report suggests a three-year-deal has been finalised, with the World Cup winner looking to secure regular first-team football while remaining in the Champions League.
Podolski has found life difficult at Arsenal recently, and struggled for game time last season. His loan move to Inter Milan didn’t work out for him too well either, and his switch to Galatasaray could prove his last chance.
He started his Arsenal career fairly brightly, but it very quickly became clear he didn’t have a future at the club. He is arguably still one of the most deadly finishers in the game, but far too often he has gone missing in big games. It will be a shame to see him leave, but we can’t give him the game time he wants at Arsenal.
