David Ospina has been tipped for an Arsenal exit this summer, with the signing of Petr Cech seemingly suggesting someone else has to make way (via The Independent).
Despite the Colombian recently claiming that he is ready to fight for his place at the club (via the Daily Mail), reports have linked him with a somewhat surprising move to Everton, according to Colombia.com.
The report suggests Roberto Martinez is looking to replace an ageing Tim Howard, whose performances last season definitely weren’t what the fans have come to expect from the experienced American shot-stopper.
It’s great to see that Ospina is willing to fight for his place, and it certainly shows some real character. There is unlikely to be space in the squad for Cech, Ospina, and Wojciech Szczesny next season though, so I would expect one to head for the exit.
The former Chelsea keeper is almost certain to come straight in as our No.1, and Szczesny boasts home-grown status and a long standing relationship with the club. Ospina has been superb in the year he’s been at the club, but if someone has to leave I expect it to be him.
