Abou Diaby finally left Arsenal this summer, after years of struggling with injuries and making sporadic appearances for the club. It looked as though his career may come to a premature end – or at the very least spiral dramatically downwards – but instead the Frenchman looks to have secured a massive move back home to Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille.
Diaby is still just 29-years-old, and in the brief glimpses we’ve had of the midfielder when injury free in recent years, he’s looked more than capable of competing at the highest level.
His quality certainly isn’t up for debate, but can he remain fit long enough to warrant a place in any side?
Marseille certainly seem to think so, with Ligue 1 Show presenter Matt Spiro confirming the move on Twitter via La Provence.

It would be a shame to see Diaby’s career crumble into nothing, as he has been painfully unlucky throughout his years at Arsenal. So hopefully he succeeds at Marseille, and gets over his injury issues back in France.
Arsenal transfer news
You could see at times why Arsene Wenger continued to show faith in the dominant midfielder, as he truly was a talented individual. We can no longer afford passengers though, and needed to part ways in order to challenge for the highest honours.
