We are known for our youth system, and the players that come through our academy are often highly sought after. Liverpool are the latest team to poach one of our stars, with the Merseyside club recently completing the signing of promising youngster Elijah Dixon-Bonner, as reported by the Metro.
The 16-year-old was highly rated at the club, and the Metro claim he was even offered a scholarship after an impressive season.
He turned the scholarship down however, instead choosing to sign for our Premier League rivals.

The young midfielder took to Instagram to make the news official, with an image of him signing a contract next to a Liverpool shirt uploaded.
We will presumably be set for a small compensation fee from Liverpool, but it does little to soften the blow of losing a promising young talent to our Premier League rivals.
While we wish the youngster luck for the future, it would be beyond frustrating were Dixon-Bonner to blossom into a truly top class player.
We haven’t seen as many of our youth products succeeding at the highest level as we would have liked in recent seasons, but hopefully that changes in the coming years.
