The official teamsheet for Arsenal’s match with a Singapore XI in our first pre-season clash has been announced on Arsenal’s official Twitter account, and the bad news is that we’ll have to wait to see new signing Petr Cech in action.
Young shot-stopper Damien Martinez gets the nod to start the game, with Wojciech Szszcesny confined to the bench. There’s no room for Cech though, so the former Chelsea man will have to wait at the very least until our second game to make his Arsenal debut.

We aren’t likely to miss Cech, as we should have no problem brushing the Singapore XI aside. It would have been fantastic to see the 33-year-old in action though, as he has already been impressing in training.
The Czech international is a fantastic signing and could be massive for us in 2015/16. Hopefully he gets a good pre-season under his belt and is able to hit the ground running in the upcoming campaign.
An important factor in a goalkeepers success is his communication with the back line, and Cech could understandably take a while to settle. He is a top quality keeper though, and his experience may well prove vital.
