Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom has certainly made his impression on Arsene Wenger in the Barclays Asia Trophy after completing a hat-trick against Singapore Select XI.
The 20-year-old forward started the game and was one of only a few players to complete the full 90 minutes as he hopes to experience more first-team opportunities next season.
With Jack Wilshere off the pitch, Akpom took our second penalty of the game after Jon Toral was fouled and slotted the spot-kick in the same corner as Wilshere did.
Moments later, good work from Hector Bellerin down the right-hand side resulted in a lobbed a cross into the penalty box, and Akpom rose to head home his hat-trick.
Arsenal transfer news
Following his loan spell during the back-end of last season, Akpom should surely be looking to make a breakthrough similar to the one Bellerin made last season.
The two shared a number of good games with the U-21s and could strengthen the reputation of our Academy by making the hardest journey in football.
Check out Akpom’s quick-fire double below which rounded off his hat-trick.
