Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has revealed that he will have talks with Arsene Wenger about where the boss sees him in the team, with competition for places intense in midfield, the Mirror reports.
Wilshere started in an advanced midfield position against Singapore Select XI, a position usually reserved for Mesut Ozil, and has stated that he’s up for the challenge.
Despite the wealth of options available to Wenger, it seems as though most are playing for the right to partner Francis Coquelin, with the Frenchman the only player of his type in our squad.

“I haven’t spoken to the boss about what plans he has for me — but I will do before the start of the season,” Wilshere was quoted as saying in the publication.
“The competition is strong in midfield so, yes, it’s down to us as individuals to make that place ours but I’m up for the challenge and I’m sure the other boys are as well.”
Wilshere, if fit, should back himself to win the battle to stake a claim given that he’s arguably our most complete central midfielder. As he continues to add goals to his game while showing defensive discipline with England, the 23-year-old can add those qualities to his array of unique technical qualities.
With Aaron Ramsey and Santi Cazorla breathing down his neck however, there is no room for complacency.
