Arsenal star David Ospina has decided to stay with us next season. Despite receiving offers to leave, the Colombian looks to set deputise for Petr Cech next season, as AS report.
Ospina starred for his national side at the Copa America earlier on this summer, but Cech’s arrival meant that the spotlight was heavily fixated in his direction.
It seemed at one point that the 26-year-old was set for a move to Fenerbahce (via talkSPORT), but with Wojciech Szczesny set to join Roma imminently (via The Guardian), it seems as though Ospina will remain at the club.
Arsenal transfer rumours
“I’m with Arsenal today. I have a four-year contract and I am very happy there. I want to continue taking advantage of the opportunity to be in one of the best teams in the world, while I have another challenge coming to share with a great keeper like Petr (Cech),” Ospina told the Spanish publication.
“There were proposals and things that were being raised, but in the end I decided to stay.”

Ospina replaced Szczesny as our first choice goalkeeper in January following the latter’s disastrous display against Southampton in a damaging 2-0 defeat.
While he steadied a previously erratic back four, it later became clear that the former Nice man didn’t possess the stature to become our long-term No.1.
Despite his deficiencies, Ospina will provide decent backup for Cech.
