Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin has been reminiscing on his breakthrough campaign and named the goal against Liverpool as the moment he’ll never forget, the Spaniard told Arsenal Player.
Bellerin was handed a first team start against Borussia Dortmund in September and, quite frankly, he was out of his depth. It seemed like a cruel learning experience and one that may set back the 20-year-old’s development.
However, he was back in the team a few months later and since the turn of the year, Bellerin has been one of the best full-backs in the division.
His goal against Liverpool stands out and his attacking forays were highlighted by the technical qualities which optimised the strike.

“There were so many players between me and the goal that I couldn’t really see the ball,” Bellerin recalled.
“That’s one of the best feelings I’ve had in my career, scoring the first goal against Liverpool, at home at the Emirates.”
Arsene Wenger signed Mathieu Debuchy to replace Bacary Sagna, but it seems as though an academy graduate is now the first choice in the right-back slot.
Bellerin has become defensively stronger over the past few months and his attacking prowess is as lethal as ever. Having recently turned 20, the potential Bellerin can realise is rather scary.
