Arsene Wenger has refused to comment on Benzema himself however, instead discussing the lack of world class talent available. The Frenchman claims the funds are there if the right player comes along, but insists that so far “we are not close”.
The Frenchman was asked about the possibility of bringing his compatriot to the club, but claims finding a striker this summer could prove difficult.
“There is a shortage [of world class strikers] in the world yes,” Wenger said, as quoted by The Telegraph.

Arsenal transfer news
