We have been heavily linked with a move for Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak recently, and now is the perfect time to make a move for the Polish international, according to the Metro.
Arsene Wenger is apparently keen on the defensive midfielder, but the report claims he has been turned off by the hefty transfer fee demanded in the past. However, with the tough tackling star’s €30m buy-out clause (via the Metro) still standing, while the value of the Euro has plummeted, Krychowiak is now seen as an affordable option.
Krychowiak only moved to La Liga from Reims last year, but was almost immediately tipped to make a switch to the Emirates following a number of excellent performances (via the Express).
As the Metro says, if we had have tried to bring him to the club all those months ago, then the Euro to Pound exchange rate meant we would have been paying close to £26m for the 25-year-old. With the Euro currently struggling though, he would cost us just £21.4m if we were to sign him this summer.
Arsenal transfer news
We certainly need reinforcements in defensive midfield, as we saw against Crystal Palace that we can’t always rely on Francis Coquelin. There’s still plenty of time to see new arrivals, so hopefully Arsene Wenger gets some business done.
