The Gunners have reportedly agreed to send striker Chuba Akpom out on loan this season, just days after manager Arsene Wenger told reporters that the youngster would be remaining with the first-team squad.
Reports in the Daily Mirror suggest that Hull City are closing in on a double deal for a pair of Arsenal youngsters, having already sealed a move for centre-back Isaac Hayden.
Akpom, who is an England Under-20 international, has previously had spells with Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest. But with him having impressed during our pre-season campaign, and with Wenger short on options up front, it was widely expected that he would stay and fight for his place in the first-team.

Indeed, Wenger told our official website: “No [he won’t go on loan]. I sent him out on loan last year because I thought he needed that. This pre-season, during the season I plan to keep him with us.”
However, it appears that the boss has had something of a change of heart. Akpom and Hayden will instead be trying to help lead the Tigers back to the Premier League at the first attempt, following their relegation last season.
We wish him all the best for this important step in his development.
