Former Real Madrid playmaker Kaka believes that his former club will not let go of Karim Benzema too easily, but suggested that we’d be acquiring a world class player should he arrive in north London, he told talkSPORT.
Kaka, a Ballon d’Or winner in 2007, played with Benzema for four seasons at the Bernabeu, with the two arriving in 2009 as Florentino Perez exercised his galactico policy to full effect.
While Kaka was often used as a squad player, he is under no illusions as to how good his former teammate is and doesn’t believe that the move is beyond the realms of possibility.
Arsenal transfer news
“I think Benzema is one of the best forwards at this moment so I don’t think Real Madrid will give him away so easily,” Kaka told the radio station.
“But Karim Benzema is a very good player and if he can have the opportunity to go to Arsenal then Arsenal will take a very, very good player.”
In terms of sheer pedigree, few can argue with what Benzema has achieved in the game and his record at Real Madrid makes for impressive reading.
The 27-year-old has netted at least 20 goals in each of the last five seasons (via Real Madrid) for the Spanish giants, which shows the type of player we could be getting this summer.
Hopefully, as difficult as the deal is, Arsene Wenger will be able to bring his compatriot to the Emirates Stadium.
