While Alexis was involved in the squad against West Ham, Welbeck has been nursing a knee injury since April which makes his reported return harder to imagine.
Alexis and Welbeck remain two of the biggest signings in our club’s history after Wenger shelled out £35million (via BBC Sport) to land the Chilean last summer, while Manchester United were given £16m (via The Telegraph) for their academy star.
The lightning quick duo can definitely add some excitement and unpredictability to our forward line.
Arsenal transfer news
Our attacking display against West Ham proves that despite the constant focus on how we defend, we have become rather predictable when advancing towards the opposition’s penalty area.
Slaven Bilic’s side were comfortable in their defensive shape and the pace of Welbeck and Alexis could’ve certainly hurt them had they been fully fit.
While the calls for Wenger to delve into the transfer market remain, the boss will most likely profess that we have enough at our disposal in order to mount a serious title challenge.
