Jack Wilshere is set for another trip to the doctor’s office, with the 23-year-old fracturing his ankle yet again. Thankfully he isn’t going to need surgery however, so will hopefully be back sooner rather than later, as reported by The Evening Standard.
Arsenal fans have got used to hearing the all too common news that Wilshere has suffered an injury, with the England international damaging his ankle so often it borders on the mundane.
Wilshere is now facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines heading into the 2015/16 season, with the academy graduate chopped down in training ahead of our Community Shield victory over Chelsea.
As the report suggests however, the club are convinced that surgery won’t be necessary. He is set to miss at least six weeks, but hopefully it won’t be too much longer than that.
Wilshere is never going to realise his massive potential if he can’t get over his injury woes, so this set-back is certainly another major blow. As we say every time this happens, hopefully this injury is the last. The young Gooner could be the future of our midfield, but only if he can overcome his glass ankle issues.
