Arsenal’s summer signing Petr Cech has warned our rivals that the squad’s desire to win trophies has been intensified by our recent success, and the 33-year-old wants to continue the achievements this season, he told fans during Members Day (via Arsenal.com).
Cech, who has won every domestic honour available to him, has already proven his desire to continue winning the major honours by joining us this summer.
The move was a controversial one given the rivalry which exists between Arsenal and Chelsea, and Cech is clearly sending a message to our players that you can never win enough trophies.

“A lot of times, people say that if you win a major trophy you get satisfied and stop working. I think it’s the other way around,” Cech told the gathering fans.
“This group now knows how to win trophies and they enjoy it very much.
“You can see the celebration every time we win trophies, and everybody speaks about it. I’m sure that everybody wants to at least repeat that this year.”
The experience Cech will bring to the side is invaluable, and just by analysing the dynamics in the tunnel before the teams emerged at Wembley on Sunday you could sense that Chelsea realised they were in a game.
Teams will have to try a lot harder to penetrate our defensive rearguard, and given that we conceded just 13 goals in 19 games towards the back end of last season, our defensive solidity will stand us in good stead for the upcoming campaign – with the big kick-off imminent.
