After a disastrous record against the Blues over the past few years, it is no coincidence that our first victory against Jose Mourinho has come with one of his most trusted lieutenants now in our dressing room.
Cech produced a calm and assured display throughout but was also aided by the defensive shield in front of him as the likes of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker put their bodies on the line numerous occasions.
As Cech and Mertesacker embraced at full-time, it seemed as though the former Chelsea man also reminded our vice-captain that he’d told him that a victory against the Blues was inevitable.
