Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere may be set for further injury heartache with reports suggesting that he could require surgery to cure his recent fibula injury, the Mirror report.
Wilshere suffered a hairline fracture to his fibula last month and it was expected that he would be fit following the international break, but Wenger revealed this week that he’d had a setback.
After being pressed on the issue, the boss wasn’t able to go into detail and the Mirror reports that Wilshere is set to see a specialist in order to determine whether he needs to go under the knife wants again.
“Wilshere progresses slowly,” Wenger told reporters after our 2-0 victory against Stoke City (via Arsenal Player).
“We will know more about Jack in the next few days and hopefully it will be good news, but he progresses.”

The frustration with Wilshere’s injuries is that he always seems to suffer traumatic problems caused by tackles to his ankle rather than consistent muscle problems.
We, therefore, harbour hope that he’ll avoid a nasty accident at the start of every season and wonder what he can produce if he steers clear of injury.
Hopefully, we’ll see him back with the squad soon and Wilshere won’t need to undergo yet another surgery.
