Arsenal have released a statement following our 2-1 win over Tottenham in the Capital One Cup, condemning the fans who tore down hoardings at White Hart Lane following the game, as reported by Sky Sports.
Mathieu Flamini rather surprisingly scored a brace, with the stadium exploding when he plucked the ball out of the air to volley in his second of the night.
We were understandably ecstatic at the win, as not only does it see us through to the fourth round, but also gives us a win over our North London rivals.
The atmosphere was somewhat ruined by Arsenal fans tearing down the hoarding post game, and Arsenal have released a statement claiming they plan to investigate the incident.
“We are concerned that this happened, involving a minority of fans,” the statement read.
“We will work with Tottenham Hotspur and the authorities on this.”
The report also claims there were skirmishes between Arsenal fans and stewards, with the authorities getting involved. The Met Police revealed that ten people were arrested, with a number of offences committed – including assault, public order, and criminal damage.

It’s a shame the game was marred by a few fans who felt the need to take things too far, but unfortunately these incidents have become commonplace in football nowadays – particularly during heated derbies.
