It’s been a surprisingly good international break for once, at least from Arsenal’s point of view. A number of Gunners got themselves on the scoresheet, and for what seems like the first time in history we’ve managed to come away from an international break injury free.
There were some injury concerns with Alexis Sanchez after he limped off against Manchester United, but he played both of Chile’s matches against Brazil and Peru – scoring three goals in the process. This is off the back of his six goals in three games for Arsenal, and it seems like he’s well and truly back on form.
Mesut Özil didn’t get on the scoresheet for Germany, but he did what he does best by bagging a pair of assists – putting in arguably a Man of the Match performance against Georgia.
Aaron Ramsey saw his Wales side qualify for their first major tournament since 1958. He put in two excellent performances and even grabbed a goal in their 2-0 win over Andorra.
Olivier Giroud has struggled for confidence recently, but scored twice for France against Denmark – both goals coming in the opening six minutes. Hopefully he’ll be feeling a bit more confident when he returns.
Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Kieran Gibbs were all in action for England, with Walcott scoring against Estonia and the Ox grabbing a goal against Lithuania. Gibbs put in a solid performance against the latter, although probably not enough to prove he deserves to displace Nacho Monreal.

Santi Cazorla was arguably the best player on the pitch against Luxembourg, with Spain unsurprisingly romping to victory. Cazorla opened and closed the scoring with his brace, and running the game from midfield.
Even Joel Campbell got on the scorehseet for Costa Rica, with his side grabbing an unlikely victory against USA.
Arsenal transfer news
Overall it was a hugely positive international break, and hopefully the players will come back in confident mood ahead of our clash with Watford.
